Blog writing… blogs, blogs, blogs they’re everywhere, but, let’s be honest, they’re not all great reads. Writing a good blog – that people want to read and that will keep your audience engaged until the very end – is easier when you have the right process.
Here at Rawww, we’re big fans of blog writing and our clients are too as they’ve seen just how effective well written and meticulously researched blogs do. Our blog writing process works and it could work for you too.
Get Creative
Before you even attempt blog writing, start with a brainstorm. Our content team take the time to write down their ideas and really think about the blog subject before them. After all, it’s all about the content, so get creative about those initial ideas, keep it real and keep it interesting.
Plan it
Stick to your deadlines too! Our editorial calendar is in constant use, updated and reviewed regularly so that everyone involved in the blog process is on the same page. But even if it’s just you involved, using deadlines will keep you focused and on target.
Just write
When it comes to the actual writing process of your blog, start with a draft version. At this initial stage, let your creativity flow without any constraints on length or editing. Say everything you want to say and then you can begin editing, selecting and honing your content.
Hone it
With regards to editing and reviewing your written blog, take your time and, if possible, get a second pair of eyes to look at it. Our writers always edit their first draft and then, at least two or three people review the finished piece to ensure the blog fits the overall requirements and captures people’s interest.
Images
Don’t forget a few images too. With blog writing, words are great, but if you compliment your blog with images it can add those finishes touches, bring it to life and add brand engagement that ties well with your overall look and feel.
Go live
Once your blog is ready to go live, don’t just keep it in one place! Look at the different channels online that you can use to reach as many people as possible.
At Rawww, we share blogs across a number of social channels and social media is perfect when you want to promote your blog and arouse interest. Facebook, Twitter, Instagram, LinkedIn, Pinterest, Vimeo, Tumblr, Xing, RebelMouse… These are just a few you could look at when sharing your blog, but, take the time to choose the channels that fit your business needs – and the ones that will attract the engagement you need.
